Over Easy Pizza

Serves approximately: 1-2 people
Chef Ginzu Difficulty Level (1 blade = easy; 5 blades = very difficult): 3 blades

Ingredients:ipad sept 2013 025 (Small)

  • 1 small pizza dough
  • 3 slices of bacon
  • ½ cup White cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • Grated Parmesan
  • Sea salt
  • Black pepper
  • Marinara sauce chunky
  • 2 Jumbo Eggs or 4 small eggs separated


  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees (or if using a grill, pre-heat grill on high)
  2. Cook bacon and let cool enough to handle
  3. Chop up bacon and set aside
  4. Mix 2 cheeses together and set aside
  5. Gently open 1 of your eggs put in a small bowl. Be careful not to break the yolkipad sept 2013 004 (Small)
  6. Season with a pinch of sea salt (If using a grinder, 1-2 twists of the grinder) and a pinch of black pepper and set aside
  7. In a second bowl, open the other egg and remove the yolk so you only have the plain whites
  8. (Note: If using the 4 small eggs, separate each yolk carefully and individually. Keep 2 of the eggs whites in a separate bowl)
  9. Stretch out the pizza dough onto your cutting boardipad sept 2013 006 (Small)
  10. Sprinkle pizza paddle with corn meal (or if you are transferring from cutting board to oven, sprinkle board with corn meal then place dough on top. This allows it to slide off the board easily)
  11. Cover your dough with sauce. You just want a thin layer
  12. Add layer of cheese mixture
  13. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese
  14. Add bacon to pizza
  15. Cook for 10 minutes or until cheese is slightly melted and dough partially cookedipad sept 2013 012 (Small)
  16. Gently place egg onto center of pizza. Make sure not to break the yolk when doing so
  17. Using the egg whites, gently pour them around the rest of the pizza. Make sure they do not spread out off the pizza. You can use a spoon to gently build a slight barrier near the crust if you need tooipad sept 2013 017 (Small)
  18. Gently place back in oven and cook for approximately 10 more minutes or until whites are cooked ( you want an over easy look to the yolk) and crust is cooked fully
  19. Sprinkle cooked whites with pepper, cut and serve as 4 slices

NOTE: If using 4 yolks, you want to gently place each yolk onto a quarter of the pizza and then spread the egg whites aroundipad sept 2013 038 (Small)
